Compare Gold IRA Companies: Disclosures and Exact Pairs

This directory helps you compare the same proposed IRA purchase across six providers. It separates documented public minimums and account charges from conflicts and unavailable terms, then links to the exact two-company question. It is not a score-based ranking or a promise that one provider delivers better investment returns.

Public disclosures reviewed October 12, 2026. Use the broader company-shortlist methodology for buyer-fit criteria, and the practical Gold IRA guide for the account decision before selecting a dealer.

Six Providers, Six Different Disclosure Positions

Provider and reviewPublished IRA accessRecurring account disclosureArrangement, limits and dated source
Augusta Precious Metals review$50,000 initial IRA purchase (FAQ)$235 recurring: $125 custody + $110 storage/insurance

Augusta’s FAQ discloses $50 setup, $125 annual custody and $110 storage/insurance: $285 first year and $235 later. The initial IRA minimum is $50,000. These are dated account charges, not a total product quote or fee-waiver promise.

Noble Gold Investments review$20,000 IRA minimum (production Gold IRA page)$285 on IRA page ($125 + $160); support says $275 ($125 + $150)

Noble’s production IRA page and support page conflict: $125 custody + $160 storage versus $125 custody + $150 described as segregated storage. The IRA page gives a $20,000 minimum. Do not select $275 as a universal total or infer storage type from $160.

Lear Capital review$10,000 IRA minimum (dated disclosure)$235 non-segregated or $285 segregated: includes $125 maintenance

Lear’s December 17, 2025 disclosure separates $50 application, $30 wire and $125 maintenance, with $110 non-segregated or $160 segregated storage. The FAQ’s $315 first/$235 later totals require electronic statements and non-segregated storage. Different selections can cost more.

Birch Gold Group review$5,000 stated minimum; can vary with market/product availability$235 in example: $125 custody + $110 storage/insurance

Birch identifies an Equity Trust/Delaware Depository example: $50 setup, $30 wire, $125 annual custody and $110 storage/insurance. Its FAQ states a $5,000 minimum that may vary. The example is not every custodian/storage combination or a guaranteed promotion.

Silver Gold Bull reviewNot verified: official IRA terms inaccessibleNot verified; unknown is not zero

Silver Gold Bull’s official IRA pages returned access/security challenges in the October 12 review. No verified IRA minimum or numeric fee schedule is available from those captures. Retail bullion or trading terms cannot fill that gap.

Official IRA pages were inaccessible; no numeric IRA minimum or schedule is verified.

American Hartford Gold review$10,000 self-directed Gold IRA minimum (FAQ)Account-specific schedule not published in reviewed FAQ

American Hartford Gold’s IRA FAQ states a $10,000 minimum and says depository storage fees vary with account size and metal holdings. Its IRA guide asks buyers to separate custody and storage costs. A complete numeric schedule was not supplied by these reviewed disclosures.

Public account-charge disclosures are not product quotes, account guarantees or complete exit costs. Unknown is not zero. No promotion credit is deducted and no current rating is used to rank providers.

Choose the Pair That Matches Your Question

For conflicting storage disclosures versus explicit account options, use Noble versus Lear. For a named custodian/depository example versus a production-schedule conflict, use Noble versus Birch. For equal lower recurring examples but different thresholds and statement/storage conditions, use Lear versus Birch.

Each head-to-head page compares one exact pair. Where a comparison is published as a blog article, this directory links directly to that article, not through an old comparison address.

A Same-Product Quote Worksheet

An equal annual charge does not establish equal custody, storage rights or bullion pricing. Write the same traditional/Roth account designation, proposed amount, exact coin/bar, quantity, reference-price timestamp, storage choice and statement method at the top of each request. A provider’s entry threshold is not a recommended allocation or additional IRA contribution room.

Quote fieldWhat makes proposals comparable
Exact productSame item, fineness/weight, quantity and receiving custodian acceptance; no silent premium-product substitution
Purchase and bidSame-time executable purchase quote and separate repurchase bid with expiry and deductions
OpeningSetup/application, wire, first annual billing and any documented credits, each counted once
RecurringCustody and storage/insurance separately, with billing party, basis, dates and change terms
CustodyNamed trustee and depository, inventory separation and actual delivery rights
Chosen exitOne modeled sale, trustee transfer or owner distribution, with applicable forms and fees

Use fee definitions and worked calculation methods for billing roles and denominators. Use the dated cross-provider cost worksheet for numerical arrangements and unresolved items. Do not count a missing amount as a saving or add a product price gap twice.

For an illustration only, a $10,500 purchase quote and $9,800 same-day bid have a $700 gap, or 6.67% of the purchase price, rounded. These invented figures are not a provider quote, typical spread or future return. The product-price gap is separate from custody and storage. The CFTC/FINRA buyer guidance warns about inflated precious-metals pricing and pressure tactics (reviewed October 12, 2026).

Resolve the Specific Gap, Not an Identical Checklist

Augusta Precious Metals: full review

Augusta offers a documented starting point for comparing a larger proposed IRA purchase. Its higher entry threshold does not prove better investment results; compare the same bullion product and selected custody arrangement.

  • Higher disclosed entry threshold than the other verified providers.
  • Product premiums and future sale bids are not covered by annual fees.
  • Published standard charges are not a personalized quote or automatic promotion.

Noble Gold Investments: full review

Noble is worth comparing when the stated IRA threshold fits and the buyer obtains a written reconciliation of its two public schedules. The schedule discrepancy matters more than choosing the lower headline fee.

  • Production fee disclosures disagree.
  • Do not assume the IRA-page storage line is segregated.
  • Distribution and closure charges are separate from recurring costs.

Lear Capital: full review

Lear provides an option-sensitive cost comparison rather than one universal price. Match statement delivery and storage selection before comparing its recurring total with another provider.

  • Lower FAQ total is conditional on electronic statements and non-segregated storage.
  • Product prices and exit costs remain separate.
  • A dated disclosure is not a signed current account agreement.

Birch Gold Group: full review

Birch provides a named custody/storage fee example and a lower stated threshold among the verified IRA disclosures. That makes the quote easier to interrogate, not automatically cheaper or more suitable.

  • Other custodian/storage arrangements can differ.
  • Minimum is conditional rather than a permanent promise.
  • Do not credit fee waivers without the written account eligibility and coverage.

Silver Gold Bull: full review

Silver Gold Bull should not be treated as a verified no-minimum IRA option. Establish the actual IRA service chain and obtain its written charges before comparing it with documented provider arrangements.

  • Official IRA disclosures were inaccessible in this review.
  • IRA minimum, fees and current counterparties remain unverified.
  • Retail shipping or trading offers do not establish IRA storage or eligibility.

American Hartford Gold: full review

American Hartford Gold supplies a documented IRA threshold but not a complete numerical cost comparison in the reviewed FAQ. It belongs on a quote shortlist only when its variable storage and other charges can be made comparable in writing.

  • No complete numeric fee schedule in the reviewed sources.
  • Variable storage prevents a universal annual total.
  • A repurchase policy does not guarantee a price or time to receive cash.

A dealer, a custodian and a depository are separate roles. The SEC self-directed IRA alert explains that administrative custody generally does not evaluate investment quality or legitimacy (reviewed October 12, 2026). Named documents and an accepted asset still do not establish personal suitability.
